Why Do We Dream?

ECKANKAR, Dreams, Prophecy, GuidanceBy Harold Klemp

Why do we dream?  Why is it important to dream?  Because dreaming comes from the creative imagination, which is God’s gift to you and me.  It is the nature of immortal Soul to dream.  This is why your dreams, both in everyday life and while asleep, are so important.

Through your ability to dream, you often have experiences in the other worlds where you act as an observer.  But as you move farther along, you become the participant in your dreams.  You become the actor.

You begin to see goals, spiritual goals which may be as valid as finding a home for your family.  You want a place where they can be happy, a haven away from the fast pace of today’s society.  You create a warm place where friends are welcome. Read More

What Is Soul Travel?

Art by: Claude GruffyThe traditional concept of Soul is that you have one, but that it is distant from your everyday life and will become important only when your physical body ceases to exist.  The ECKist, on the other hand, believes that each person is Soul and that It is the essential and permanent center of our being.  It can never be lost.

We can, however, forget who we are.  Our physical senses and emotions become overwhelming, and we lose Soul’s spiritual viewpoint.  Regaining this viewpoint is called Soul Travel.  And Soul Travel is accomplished by practicing the Spiritual Exercises of ECKANKAR on a daily basis.

Saved by the Mahanta

By Tosin, Nigeria

Although a student of Eckankar, I occasionally doubted the constant presence of the Mahanta in my life. I wondered if the Inner Master‘s promise, I am always with you, was really true.

One evening, I was lying in bed, trying to decide whether I should do a spiritual exercise, have dinner, or just go to sleep. All of a sudden, I heard the very clear voice of the Inner Master within me.

“Get up and sing HU!” he said.

The voice was so strong and urgent, it sounded like a command. I promptly got out of bed and began singing HU, Soul‘s love song to God. About five minutes into the spiritual exercise, I heard another clear, inner instruction. Read More

You’ve Lived Before, and You Will Live Again

ECKANKAR, Soul, Truth,By Harold Klemp

The great benefit of the ECK teachings is that they offer spiritual freedom.

Each religion holds out some promise to its followers.  The word of Christianity to its people is the redemption of sins, a problem that stems from Adam and Eve, who disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden.  Yet for their error, all future generations should carry the blame.  A Christian, lost spiritually at birth, has the stigma of this original sin automatically fastened to him.  Original sin means inborn guilt.

By contrast, the ECK teachings speak not of guilt but of responsibility.  People are where they have put themselves. Read More

Your Bond of Love with All Life

ECKANKAR, Pets, Soul, LoveBy Harold Klemp

If you have a pet, you are aware of the bond of love between yourself and your pet.  This bond of love exists because you are Soul—a particle of God sent here to gain spiritual experience.  Ultimately, to learn how to give and to receive divine love.

What most people don’t realize is their pet is also Soul.  Animals are Soul too.

Soul exists because God loves It.  It’s very simple.  And when two Souls set up a bond of love, it is stronger and more enduring than eternity.  It doesn’t matter if the two Souls are human beings or if one of them happens to be a bird, a dog, a cat, or another animal form.

You, me, our pets—we are all Soul dwelling here in the world of nature.  Nature itself reflects the laws of ECK, the Holy Spirit.  We can observe the working of Divine Spirit in the habits of birds, the cycles of plants, and the instincts of reptiles and mammals.

All sing the glory of God; all teach the secrets of life.

What Is the Ultimate Goal of Soul?

ECKANKAR, Goal, Soul, Love, SpiritualBy Harold Klemp

Here is a brief review of the final goal of Soul: It gathers an education in the lower worlds so that It can become a true citizen in the spiritual community.  This is what we call a Co-worker with God.

The relationship between parent and child in the worlds of matter is based upon this spiritual design.  The parent is the vehicle for the child’s entrance into the world and is responsible for his education.  The child must, between birth and the age of perhaps eighteen, learn all the dos and don’ts of his culture.  The significant fact underlying the parent-child relationship is that there is more freedom for the child as he gets older and assumes more responsibility.  The parent has failed his duties if the child reaches legal age and is unfit to take his place in the world. A Better Life Is Just One Step Away

ECKANKAR, Soul, God, DestinyBy Harold Klemp

A woman worked in a medical office where the doctor was unkind to her.  She was always being scolded for this or that.  She finally couldn’t stand it, so she quit; she felt that no matter how bad it was out there in the world, she’d be better off without a job than working for that doctor.

Right after she quit, the woman had an accident where she broke her jaw.  She lay at home recuperating, wondering what she should do as the bills began piling up.

One morning she got a call from another doctor in the same medical building where she had worked before. He asked her if she would work on a temporary basis in his office while one of his regular employees was on maternity leave.  She said yes and started work the next week. Read More

Awaken to Your Dreams

ECKANKAR, Love, Dreams, HealingDo you ever wake from a dream but can’t quite remember where you were?  Then an image may gently float in, or something sparks your memory.  Suddenly you recall a scene as real as the world in front of you.

Dreams are windows into worlds beyond the ordinary.  Some people have dreams that give them guidance about the smallest details of their daily life along with profound spiritual insights.  Others experience unconditional and transforming love in their dreams.

For example, a woman from the Midwest found such love in her dreams after her mother died.  The woman asked Divine Spirit for help with her grief.  In a series of dreams, she met with her mother.  As they visited together, the daughter was filled with the love they have for each other.  These dreams helped the woman deal with her sorrow.
