How do you recognize truth?

Most people respond to the Light and Sound of God indirectly by listening to their intuition, trusting their feelings, or following their conscience.

But others do see the Light directly; It often appears before the Sound. They are two parts of the Voice of God, the ECK, which speaks to all whose spiritual eyes can see the mysteries of divine love.

Each of us is a unique individual, with our own peculiar combination of experiences accumulated over many lifetimes. Those of you who have moved through several different levels of spiritual consciousness have found that your life can get rough at times. Why? Not because somebody in the dark alley is shooting arrows at you. It’s because you’re meeting yourself. And this is truth. Truth means meeting yourself.

It’s one of the paradoxes of truth. So many people claim to have truth. So many people claim to know it. But they can’t agree with each other about what truth is. And they’re ready to fight to the death to have their view of truth prevail.

If your heart is pure, the Lord will bring truth into your life. But don’t expect it to come in a way that fits your expectations; it may come in a different way. The great benefit of the ECK teachings is that they offer spiritual freedom.

Each religion holds out some promise to its followers.  The word of Christianity to its people is the redemption of sins, a problem that stems from Adam and Eve, who disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden.  Yet for their error, all future generations should carry the blame.  A Christian, lost spiritually at birth, has the stigma of this original sin automatically fastened to him.  Original sin means inborn guilt.
