My beloved Golden Retriever Kirby had cancer and pancreatitis. I did not do very well at all spiritually during the months before his translation. The thought of being separated from him in the physical was not only sad, but filled me with fear. He and his sister had been such bright lights during some of my darkest hours, and I could not imagine being without this bit of heaven here on earth.

After he translated I was very sad for months, and the sleep that I lacked during the months of nursing him day and night had really thrown me out of balance. A Dream Exercise

Dreams are an easy and natural way to pursue spiritual unfoldment. Here is an exercise you can try before you go to sleep. It can help you see your problems from a higher viewpoint to aid you in your life.

Make a request. Before you go to sleep, write down a question about a problem that bothers you. Ask the Dream Master or your own spiritual teacher for guidance on this question. Lie down, and close your eyes.

Sing HU. Softly sing HU (pronounced like the word hue) for about five minutes. HU is an ancient name for God. It has the unique ability to lift you into a higher state of awareness. Singing HU connects you with Divine Spirit, or ECK, which can be seen as an inner light or heard as sound.

Write down your experiences. When you wake up in the morning, write down any dreams, thoughts, or feelings, even if you don’t think they are significant. As you go through your day, write down any new thoughts or experiences that relate to your problem. Do this for three to five days. Then look over your notes. You may discover that images you first thought were unrelated now make sense and give you clues to the overall pattern of your life.

Coming to ECK

Thank you, Sri Harold, from the bottom of my heart for bringing me into Eckankar. I had known vaguely about Eckankar but was busy with my spiritual path little knowing I would end my search in Eckankar.

About seven years ago I was spending a lot of time on my couch asking for direction. I was not in good shape, with many ailments and much pain. One day, I turned the TV on to the community channel and heard the sound of HU. Then you came on and started to speak. I was bewildered. You were telling what I thought was a very simple story. But then I noticed your eyes looking deeply into mine and love started to pour into me right from the television. I was astonished. I started to laugh and cry and to shut my eyes tightly against all that love but kept opening them to receive more of that astonishing love which I had never experienced. HU Heals Your Heart

My dad passed three years ago and though I felt a certain sadness, I was comforted in the thought of him happy and healthy, learning the lessons of this life, and preparing for the next one.

When it came time to assist our very ill seventeen-year-old Bichon Frise, Picasso, to leave this world for the unleashed pastures of the heavenly worlds, I thought I’d be able to handle that transition just as easily. After all, I am an ECKist! We do have a different outlook on Soul’s translation after death of the physical body that happens to include our pets.

When the time came, my husband Bob called in a Lap of Love hospice vet and we were able to play the HU song softly in the background as we sang HU silently to ourselves. We shared with the hospice vet about Prajapati (an ECK Master that cares for animals), the HU, and our beliefs about our pets reincarnating and serving life too.
