A Woman Receives Reassurance of the Mahanta’s Eternal Promise

15B34_Walker_Reflection of Love (2)By Margit, Germany

Despite a blue and clear sky and magnificent sunshine outside, my heart felt very overcast. It was one of those lonely days when I asked myself—is the Master truly always with me?

To cheer myself up, I grabbed a blanket and a book and headed for the nearby city gardens.

Once there I encountered much bustle; many people enjoyed the splendor of the flowers, the splashing fountain and simply devoted themselves to this beautiful day. On one of the grassy areas close to the edge of the huge pond I spread out my blanket and surrendered my heavy heart to the sight of the fountain and a single cluster of reeds. Read More

How Does Prayer Work?

ECKANKAR, Prayer, Unconditional Love, God, HUBy Harold Klemp

The Spindrift Organization has done a lot of experiments in the lab trying to prove that prayer works.  They set up experiments with plants, and they tried directed prayer.  They’d always have a control group.  Then they would see if there were any differences in plant growth.  And there were.

They did these experiments for a while, and then somebody had an idea.  They said, “We’ve proved now that prayer changes things.”  In other words, saying to the little plant, “Grow!”  “But now let’s see if there’s a difference between directed prayer and other types.”  They wanted to look at another kind of prayer, which is nondirected prayer. For Alignment with God

Spir_Exer_Shariyat_1By Harold Klemp

“If the Mahanta bestows gifts upon the solicitor, then he is the most fortunate of the fortunates for it means that he basks in the favor of the Living ECK Master and seeks nothing further in life. He has met and found the true Vi-Guru, and must now start his spiritual journey to God. Read More

My Spiritual Companion

By Nora, Georgia

This morning, I had a troubling issue that kept coming up to me. And no matter how hard I tried to let it off my thoughts, it kept coming. Even this morning’s spiritual exercise could not suppress it. The issue actually kept intruding in my thought as I was singing HU and making effort to focus on Mahanta’s gaze. It was a battle.

Then suddenly I looked to my side on the bed and beheld there was the new book by Harold Klemp, Spiritual Exercises for the Shariyat, Book One. I had a nudge again to open it at random for guidance. I found my thumb on this paragraph:

“Prepare yourself for a chat with the Master. Read More

Finding the Gold

Fubbi Quantz_internetBy Rolando, California

I just came back from three days of visiting the gold country in the Sierra Mountains of California. I was a chaperone for my son’s 4th grade field trip to Gold Rush County. It was educational, fun, and adventuresome! But I also didn’t anticipate being a Vahana for the ECK and a Co-worker with the Mahanta. It was a three-hour drive to the mountains from our home in Burlingame, California. The drive was fun and my son and his two companions were excited.

On the first day, trouble began when a known problem student, “Jeremy,” became unruly. He stole some goods from a gift shop that the group had visited and pushed a teacher after she confronted him. After dinner, he was told to pack up his gear so that he could be sent home. Wow. This is where the trip turns very interesting. It was like the ECK had a surprise job for me. Read More

Lessons from Chloe

By Alexander, Arizona

Animals are Soul and capable of being channels for the divine, often in powerful ways, just like humans.

A case in point is Chloe, a big, sixteen-year old Russian Blue cat, who translated last night. She came to us in Seattle, from a shelter, full of fears and anxieties that she never seemed able to shake. Her natural reaction was to find a dark, secure place to hide from life: an underwear drawer, a den in thick vegetation. She ate in excess and in a panic, and then vomited on the living room floor. Her spirit was troubled. I used to think that it was our mission to help her heal. But then realized that was merely vanity.

And yet, she had an enormous capacity to give love.

When my wife was going through a “dark night” that came after a job promotion turned out to be hollow, Chloe understood the situation. She came to her each day in bed and lay almost on top of her head and purred so loudly, that it was like the Sound Current—a rolling wave of love. This only stopped once the problem was resolved. The Mahanta’s Help Is Here for All

By Rosemary, United Kingdom

My younger sister was ill. She kept fainting, and no one knew how to help her. Eventually, she went to her doctor and received a devastating diagnosis: She had an inoperable brain tumor and had only a few months to live. She was only thirty-six years old.

When I heard the news, I wanted to see her. Although she was of another faith, I thought it might help her to have some material on the ECK teachings, so I packed some books and tapes on Eckankar.

When I arrived, I gave her what I’d brought and also gave her a picture of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. I let her know the Mahanta was the Inner Master and could help her during this difficult time. Then I shared the HU with her. Read More

Touched by God’s Grace

By Dorathy, Nigeria

Six years ago, my husband became a member of Eckankar. At the time, I had mixed feelings about this. The ECK teachings were unfamiliar to me, and I wondered about the value of singing HU as a prayer of love to God.

But I also love and trust my husband. So I went with him to ECK events to understand more about this religion.

I discovered that the ECK teachings were about God’s divine love for us as Soul. I learned that singing HU opens the doorway for a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit and draws us closer to God. I also learned about the constant presence and love of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Harold Klemp. In his inner form, the Mahanta is always with students of ECK to help them on their journey home to God.

But I was still not convinced the ECK teachings were for me. Without having any personal experiences of my own, I had difficulty accepting them as true.

Then something happened to change my point of view. Read More

HU, the Most Beautiful Prayer

By Daisny, Mauritius

When I became a member of Eckankar, I learned about singing HU, the ancient name for God.

Sung as a love song to God, HU is a beautiful prayer that draws Soul closer to God. It uplifted me, and I decided to share it with my father, who was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

My father enjoyed the HU and began to sing it every morning. Over time, his awareness of the invisible spiritual worlds expanded. Occasionally, he shared his experiences with me. I could see that the ECK, or Holy Spirit, was an important part of Dad’s life.

Three years later, my father had a stroke which left him paralyzed and unable to speak. I was very sad and went to visit him every day. Read More
