Life after Death

Our family dog of almost nineteen years translated. Diggitty had been living with our son in northern California. This beautiful Soul gave our family so much love, joy, laughter and healing, and was such an integral part of our family. He brought our family through some dark times and helped my son go from being a troubled teen to a beautiful sensitive, loving Soul. The love this dog taught all of us to have, but most especially my son, was absolutely amazing.

In Diggitty’s later years, when his body wasn’t functioning as well, my son Travis spent much quality time with him and was very patient. When it was apparent Diggitty would translate very soon, Travis carried him to their favorite place, near his home, at the ocean and held Diggitty in his arms all day long. The Two Collies

One night a sales representative had a dream about two collies.  Her recollection of the dream was a bit garbled the next morning, but she dutifully wrote down as much of it as she could remember.  Then she went about her life as usual.

She was just sitting down to dinner the next day, when she heard a noise at the kitchen door.  There were two collies standing outside.

The woman recognized them immediately.  They were the collies in her dream.

If she hadn’t had that dream, she might have sent the dogs on their way, thinking that they were simply exploring the neighborhood and looking for a handout. Read More

Q: How can our dreams help us?

A: Dreams are like a daily report card. They show how you are doing in your spiritual mission, even if you don’t know you have one. Dreams tell how you are getting on in your relationship with God and life.

There is a spiritual side to every experience or event, no matter how large or small, and whether or not it occurs in every day life or in a dream.

But—and this is a big but—few people have the spiritual eyes to see.

Most people are in a daze but don’t know it. They have hardly any idea about their life in the higher spiritual worlds while their body lies asleep at day’s end.

An ECK initiate, “Helen,” went to see her doctor about a certain health problem.  He gave her two prescriptions which had proven helpful to other patients with the same condition.  She took the medications faithfully for a few days but finally concluded that they were not going to work for her.

One night Helen had a dream—a very simple inner experience.  First she saw a plain black screen.  Then the letters began to appear, one by one, each a different color, spelling out the word Ornade.  She didn’t know exactly what it was, but she had a feeling it was significant for her health.  She woke up in the middle of the night and, while the experience was fresh in her mind, she got out of bed and carefully wrote down the word. The Last-time Dream

I met a lady about twenty-five years ago. She came to my salon of health and fitness. Three times a week, at 7:00 a.m. she would be there and doing an hour of Toning Table exercises. As it was too early for most, I would chat with her to keep her motivation up. And she told me all about her family. The result was that over the years we became firm friends. She was twenty years older than me. My mother had passed on. So it was a warm, almost friends-mother-daughter relationship.

I Had a Dream about Your Dad

My dad was a great person to have coffee with and talk. He was very intelligent. Every day we would meet and talk and talk. He particularly had a dislike of religions. I never let it bother me but sometimes I got weary of all the talks.

Many years ago, I went on a picnic with some friends, and we decided to go for a hike. The trail was leading uphill, and we’d soon be high up on the mountainside. This made me a little nervous because I was afraid of heights.

Two of us soon came to a cliff. My hiking partner sat near the edge, but I hung back a few feet, reluctant to get too close.

The Mahanta’s Help Is Here for All

My younger sister was ill. She kept fainting, and no one knew how to help her. Eventually, she went to her doctor and received a devastating diagnosis: She had an inoperable brain tumor and had only a few months to live. She was only thirty-six years old.

When I heard the news, I wanted to see her. Although she was of another faith, I thought it might help her to have some material on the ECK teachings, so I packed some books and tapes on Eckankar.

Touched by God’s Grace

Six years ago, my husband became a member of Eckankar. At the time, I had mixed feelings about this. The ECK teachings were unfamiliar to me, and I wondered about the value of singing HU as a prayer of love to God.

But I also love and trust my husband. So I went with him to ECK events to understand more about this religion.

I discovered that the ECK teachings were about God’s divine love for us as Soul. I learned that singing HU opens the doorway for a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit and draws us closer to God. I also learned about the constant presence and love of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Harold Klemp. In his inner form, the Mahanta is always with students of ECK to help them on their journey home to God.

But I was still not convinced the ECK teachings were for me. Without having any personal experiences of my own, I had difficulty accepting them as true.

Reunion with a Departed Loved One

Five years had gone by since “Adele’s” sister had passed on, or translated.  Adele often wondered, Does my sister still remember me?  Why doesn’t she come, even in dreams?

Adele teaches art.  She lives in a quiet suburb.  One day one of her students looked out and saw a kitten nearby that had apparently been struck by a car.  It looked as if it wouldn’t be able to live much longer.  The student ran outside and tried to catch the little kitten but wasn’t able to.  For the next week Adele worried about the kitten.  She put out food and water because it would need some help in getting fed.  But the kitten never showed up.
