Near-Death Experience Brings Spiritual Help

Gopal Das_Rev_internetBy Harold Klemp

When Marion, a girl from Germany, was fourteen years old, she got meningitis. A bacterial infection turned serious, and in just a matter of hours she went into a coma.

Her parents called an ambulance; Marion was rushed off to a hospital.

While the ambulance was driving along, Marion found herself out of the body for the first time. She was standing next to the stretcher in the ambulance. The paramedics couldn’t stand up straight in the ambulance, but she could because she was a viewpoint, in the Soul body. Read More

Something Only the ECK Can Do

Shariyat 1&2 CoverBy Usen, Pennsylvania

Here is one of my favorite quotes from the Shariyat:

What is confidently expected in the future is worked out and anticipated in the present, and it is the experience of God in the present which leads to confidence in It in the future.

My faith and trust in the guiding hand of the Mahanta have brought fantastic blessings and love from him. I’ll share one such blessing here:

My early years in the United States saw many tough times. At a point my employer could only guarantee thirty hours of work a week. Read More

The Next Step

By Jeremiah, Pennsylvania

Many years ago, I went on a picnic with some friends, and we decided to go for a hike. The trail was leading uphill, and we’d soon be high up on the mountainside. This made me a little nervous because I was afraid of heights.

Two of us soon came to a cliff. My hiking partner sat near the edge, but I hung back a few feet, reluctant to get too close.

My friend said, “Don’t be afraid. Try to come closer.”

I sat down on the ground and slowly moved closer. We were very high up, and I felt a little dizzy. Read More

The Mahanta’s Help Is Here for All

By Rosemary, United Kingdom

My younger sister was ill. She kept fainting, and no one knew how to help her. Eventually, she went to her doctor and received a devastating diagnosis: She had an inoperable brain tumor and had only a few months to live. She was only thirty-six years old.

When I heard the news, I wanted to see her. Although she was of another faith, I thought it might help her to have some material on the ECK teachings, so I packed some books and tapes on Eckankar.

When I arrived, I gave her what I’d brought and also gave her a picture of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master. I let her know the Mahanta was the Inner Master and could help her during this difficult time. Then I shared the HU with her. Read More

Everything Happens for the Best

By Kaleeswaran, India

I worked as an officer in a private bank in India. One day, my manager told me another branch of the bank had a work overload and the head office wondered if I’d be willing to help out.  It meant transferring to the other branch for a few months.

I accepted, and one week later I was working in the other branch.  My tasks went smoothly. In three months I had completed them all and began to assist as a cash officer.

One morning, my new manager told me it was time to return to my original bank branch. I offered to stay until the end of the day, but the manager refused.

“My instructions are for you to leave immediately!” he snapped. Then he walked away. Read More

Spiritual Exercise: Game of Chess

By Harold Klemp

You can do this exercise anytime—whether you are at work, in contemplation, or about to fall asleep.

Lightly place your attention upon a situation in your life, then put your viewpoint as Soul above the situation.  Look down on everything going on below as if it were a chess game—even though it might be in your imagination.  You can look at a situation anywhere in the world from this viewpoint.

As you are gazing upon it, change the situation by simply rearranging your place on the chessboard.  It’s a successful device, and those who use it often make great changes around themselves.

Touched by God’s Grace

By Dorathy, Nigeria

Six years ago, my husband became a member of Eckankar. At the time, I had mixed feelings about this. The ECK teachings were unfamiliar to me, and I wondered about the value of singing HU as a prayer of love to God.

But I also love and trust my husband. So I went with him to ECK events to understand more about this religion.

I discovered that the ECK teachings were about God’s divine love for us as Soul. I learned that singing HU opens the doorway for a deeper connection with the Holy Spirit and draws us closer to God. I also learned about the constant presence and love of the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, Sri Harold Klemp. In his inner form, the Mahanta is always with students of ECK to help them on their journey home to God.

But I was still not convinced the ECK teachings were for me. Without having any personal experiences of my own, I had difficulty accepting them as true.

Then something happened to change my point of view. Read More

Overcoming Resistance and Finding Love

Call of Soul coverBy Valerie, Texas

My journey in ECK started three and a half years ago.

I had been looking for a way out of the church because I needed a real connection with the Holy Spirit. On January 1, 2010, I decided that I will spend the day in prayer until I enter in contact with the Holy Spirit.

As I was praying I was also singing Holy Spirit hymns and songs. That day something special happened but I did not realize it until almost the end of the year when I met my future husband who gave me an ECK book The Call of Soul and a HU song CD. I listened to that CD late at night around 2:00 a.m. Sri Harold’s voice sounded so familiar that I felt at home. When the HU song played I could not stop listening. I recognized the sound. Read More

For Creative Inspiration

Shariyat SpirEX Bk1_CoverBy Harold Klemp

“If man is to survive in the physical universe, then he must find time for creative activity in spiritual things. Until this comes about, within a group with time to do something besides subsist in the materialistic worlds, there is little opportunity for the spiritual sensitivity of man to develop.”

—Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad, Bk 1, pp. 183–84

Is there a goal or a project you would like to take the next step with? Picture this clearly in your Spiritual Eye.

With eyes open or shut, chant the word ghata for several minutes. It’s an ECK word for the act of opening the consciousness. After a minute or so of silence, return to chanting the word and going into silence, until you have repeated this pattern three times.

Inspiration may come during this exercise or during the day as the word draws new vibrations into your awareness.
